Hi Monish
There is no quick fix to bowling accurately, it takes some practice. Start by bowling at a target (see the article and comments). I often get players to concentrate on the top of off-stump from the start of their run up to after they release the ball. This keeps the head still and it will improve your balance, try to remain upright as you deliver the ball too. Work on you're accuracy (with a coach if you have one at your club) and then worry about getting the ball to do things afterwards.

Hope this helps, Daniel

The most important thing is that the child learns to bowl accurately first. Don't worry too much about strength as this will improve as they grow.

Thank you Kendra, for asking the exact question what I'm gonna ask here.
But one more thing: what kind of exercises you suggest to strengthen a bowler arm? There is on kid that have a good focus and aim, but his bowl weak. Thank you daniel

Cheers,

Dear Daniel,

My million thanks to your advice. I will follow each and every word of your valuable advice. As you have suggested, i will try to make him an athlete as projected in your LTAD articles. I feel playing cricket once or twice in a week, is good enough for him and that should ease and create interest from my son to play. Yes, he is enjoying the game. Please allow me to keep in touch with you.

Thank you,

Nandan

Hi Nandan, good to hear from you!

Here in the UK we wouldn't concentrate much on technique at such a young age. The child has obviously developed ahead of his time, so well done to you both for the hard work.

My words of advice would be to allow your son to develop as an athlete, not just a cricketer. Play other sports and this will help him to develop skills such as balance. Check out my articles on the LTAD section if you need to.

Don't put too much pressure on him at an early age, although I can see he is enjoying it from the smile on his face :)
